Burt is forced to retire, meaning his innie is gone.

Then, his friends won’t listen to his very valid concerns.

Eventually,Irving is firedfor using threats to expose that Helena Eagan is disguising herself as her innie.

Plus, his life outside of Lumon is lonely.

In fact, he might genuinely be the character Im rooting for the most.

Burt and Fields tease each other lovingly and share stories about their past andwhy Burt chose to be severed.

It’s a natural relationship built on love, and both are still very happy.

They have a history, jokes, and a closeness that innie Burt and Irving never got to build.

Meanwhile, Burt and Fields have a happy marriage that is impossible to ignore.

And with Burt having another solid relationship with Fields, it’s only gotten more complicated.
