Who Is Behind ‘Before’?
Beforeis created and showrun bySarah Thorp, who previously wrote the horror seriesDamienand theJacob’s Ladderremake.
Eli Adler, a child psychiatrist reeling from the recent loss of his wife, finds his life disrupted when he begins treating Noah, a boy with unsettling ties to his past. As their bond deepens, buried memories resurface, and the supernatural mystery surrounding them unravels into something far darker.
The story was initially created by Crystal himself, who teamed up with his son-in-lawHowie Millerand evolved the concept.
Miller ended up becoming a producer on the series and wrote the seventh episode of the season.
Internationally known for being a comedy actor, Crystal revealed thatBeforewasa welcome turn in his career.
He stated:
I relished these moments, being this character.
I was so looking forward to living in this world of the unknown, and it really delivered.
Its been the most challenging role Ive ever had to play and probably the most satisfying.
This story was always supposed to be dark and scary at times, and we embraced that.
