Blockbusters are meant to be entertaining; that’s their whole point.
Still, some blockbusters are so lame that they deserve lampooning.
Despite their massive production values and star-studded casts, they leave audiences yawning rather than gasping.

With this in mind, this list considers some of the most boring blockbusters of the 21st century.
They will be ranked based on how much they squandered their potential and how utterly unenjoyable they are.
There’s not much chemistry between them, either.

These flaws drain the movie of tension, something not helped by the ceaseless stream of generic combat sequences.
The finished product feels like a feature-lengthGleeepisode (derogatory).
Even the vibrant 1980s aesthetic, which could have been a major selling point, feels underutilized.
Unsurprisingly, the human characters are mostly reduced to exposition machines.
Plus, the Transformers are sidelined throughout most of the flick’s 149-minute (!)
runtime, meaning those hoping for copious Autobot action will be sorely disappointed.

Thus, fans and critics alike reacted negatively to the film.
6’Morbius' (2022)
Directed by Daniel Espinosa
“I am… Venom.
Just kidding, it’s Dr. Michael Morbius at your service.”
I had no idea what this was going to become.
“Fifty Shades of Greywas already lame, butFifty Shades Darkersomehow managed to be worse.
Indeed, this movie is faux-risque,pretending to be provocative while actually playing it safeat every turn.

Finally, the movie drags all this out to almost two hours, padding the runtime with filler.
That thisgrossednearly $400m remains incredible.
Speaking of shoddy sequels,New Moonis the movie whereTwilightfully embraced its melodramatic absurdity.
Even the climax, which should have been engaging, winds up being oddly toothless.
Let’s not mince words: 2015’sFantastic Fouris one ofthe most joyless and misguided attempts at rebootinga franchise.
It’s completely devoid of energy or fun.

Most egregiously,Fantastic Fourwastes the talents of its cast, offering them little to no character development.
The narrative structure is also frustrating.
The first half is a slow burn, focusing on scientific experimentation but failing to build the emotional stakes.
It’s shocking how so much rich world-building is simply jettisoned, replaced with shallow, forgettable substitutes.
1’Madame Web' (2024)

This story had potential, but the movie comes across as messy and unfinished, not to mention boring.
Whatever momentum the movie manages to build is quickly squandered as it shifts into a plodding, meandering midsection.
WithMadame Web,Sony proves once again that itsSpider-Manspinoffsdesperately need a new direction.
