The best TV crime families are compelling, dysfunctional, and have fractured dynamics.
At any moment, one might not hesitate to take another out.

‘Succession’ (20182023)
The Roys onSuccessionwerent directly murderers.
But one could argue that their many acts led to the deaths of several individuals.

Even while in prison, however, George does his best to continue to manipulate the family.
But hes never given any actual authority to do so.
This ends up being the overarching theme ofSons of Anarchy.
It doesnt get more savage a crime family than that.
While they dont run a family business, per se, each one engages in his own criminal activity.
Terry (Eddie Marsan) has softened now that he suffers from Parkinsons disease.
And they arent afraid to wield guns and take names to do it.
2The Byrdes
‘Ozark’ (20172022)
The Byrdes fromOzarkwerent always a criminal family.
They were a pretty respected nuclear family that worked hard and enjoyed occasional indulgences.
Even so, he was still a menacing presence.
