They were still developing a reputation, butThe Boondocksis a great example of reflecting the period.

While they appear to be a stereotypical nuclear family, the Smiths are anything but.

Oh, and they are housing an alien rescued by the Smiths on the run from Area 51!

Or at least, an absurd and satirical take on the political landscape.
