But what really made Gilliam’s take stand out was the ending.

It makes sense that this could happen because of Manhattan’s influence though.
That’s exactly the way that Gilliam proposedWatchmenshould end, with Doctor Manhattan essentially retconning the entire film itself.
Talk about a mind-bending twist.

But the real problem was that Gilliam and McKeown couldn’t crack the script.
Alan Moores work is surely one-of-a-kind, but that doesnt mean it cant be adapted well.
