What Is ‘National Anthem’ About?
Despite the contrivances with her character, Lindley still carries a lot of charisma in her performance.
National Anthem follows a 21-year-old construction worker named Dylan, played by Charlie Plummer, who joins a community of queer rodeo performers in rural New Mexico. This new environment allows Dylan to explore his identity and seek his version of the American dream.
Park has such an electric screen presence and perfectly bounces off of all their costars.
It occasionally borders between overly sentimental, self-indulgent, and authentic.
Despite all of this, it never stops being interesting.
National Anthemcomes to theaters in the U.S. starting July 13.
