Moana’s recent sequel has brought the ocean-adventuring not-princess back to everyone’s mind.

Even 35 years after its release,The Little Mermaidis widely popular and recently receivedthe live-action remake treatment.

Yet, no story is entirely new, andMoana,in many ways, is reminiscent ofThe Little Mermaid.

Of course,the sidekick characterunderwent major changes and ended up being largely comic relief.

In this way, they reverse each other’s story.
