Night Shyamalanin the horror thrillerTrap.
What do you consider the toughest shot or sequence of your career thus far?
A father and his teen daughter attend a pop concert only to realize they’ve entered the center of a dark and sinister event.
I was 45 when I shot it.
It’s different from when you’re in your twenties.
You just don’t recover the way you used to, you know?
So, I found that to be the toughest physical thing I’ve ever had to do.
Emotionally and psychologically, maybe some of the stuff in this fits into that category.
But the research into this was not so fantastic.
It wasn’t nice.
But to be able to put it to good use and make this a fun ride was great.
I think thats a really hard challenge.

That is what the film is about.
The more you learn about his darkness, the more entertaining he becomes.
I think that people’s fascination with serial killers, as well, kind of helps.
So you see the shooting schedule.
That has to be revelatory and honest and intriguing and different than you’ve seen before.
So that was the thing that gave me pause and that I was scared of.
How much do we give away?
How much darkness do we see?
Those scenes were fun because they were a tightwire.
I love a challenge, but it was definitely daunting.
Trapis now in theaters.
