Was there anything that you found yourself most drawn to?

Its been so fun to see you hostingLove Island.
Its a very, very different feeling.
With everything you got to do in thisWill Trentepisode, what were you most nervous about?
My boyfriend and his family speak Cantonese.
That was actually the highest-pressure scene, and we shot that scene on my last day on set.
It was nice that I had extra time with that scene.
And then, aside from that, I was just nervous about meeting everybody.
How many times did you actually have to shoot the scene where youre speaking Cantonese?
But there are so many other things at play.
Special Agent Will Trent was abandoned at birth and endured a harsh coming-of-age in Atlanta’s overwhelmed foster care system. Determined to make sure no one feels as he did, he now has the highest clearance rate.
Theres so much that goes into shooting any scene.
Do you feel more confident that youve proven yourself?
MADIX: I definitely always feel like I have something to prove.
I still feel that.
I think thats something that comes from growing up riding horses and growing up doing dance as a kid.
You do your best, but youll never attain perfection, and thats fine.
Does each new accomplishment move the goalposts for you?
Are there things you want to do now that you never could have imagined before?
MADIX: Oh, absolutely.

Where does that inner confidence come from?
Do you have to give yourself a pep talk?
Do you have friends that do that for you?
I think to myself, Youve agreed to do it.
Youre gonna show up.
You have to show up.
Do you wanna show up and be this ball of nerves that you are in the hotel room?
Youre not gonna be able to redo this moment.
Thats where that burst comes from.
After doingDancing with the Stars, how was Jake McLaughlin as a dance partner?
What was it like to line dance with Ormewood?
MADIX: He thought it was slightly out of character for him, as a person.
By the way, the professional dancers in that scene were incredible.
They were all so good.
In rehearsal, they were already putting pizazz on everything.
It was a big group scene with everyone in the bar, loud music, and all the dancing.
It was a really fun note to end on.
What was that scene like to shoot?
MADIX: I just went with whatever they wrote.
I didnt have a hand in that, at all.
Its a really fun moment that made me want to see you come back on the show.
MADDIX: Yeah,it looks like they might have a little thing.
What does this appearance in this series mean for you?
Do you want to do other roles?
Are you looking to do movies?
MADDIX: I definitely want to be doing more roles, whether thats TV or film.
I definitely had such a great time doing this.
Of course, I would love to play not myself.
I loved doing it.
Im very excited for the new season ofAlice in Borderland.
MADDIX: There are some specifics.
There are a lot of wheels in motion, always, all the time.
But that being said, I am fairly open.
I certainly dont like to close doors.
I prefer to keep more doors open than closed.
The Vanderpump Rules star is looking past last years Scandoval.
What did it mean to you to get to take onChicagoand play Roxie Hart on Broadway?
It scares even the most seasoned actors to do live theater.
What surprised you about the experience?
MADDIX: It is a huge undertaking.
Shes such a beloved character.
Whats so fun about Roxie is that in the rehearsal process, you talk about who your Roxie was.
That being said, I think live theater is so much fun.
I love doing eight shows a week.
I love being on stage.
Theres such a gratification.
Tonight, maybe this is what Im feeling in this scene.
Maybe your instinct was wrong, but maybe it was really right.
But when you are shooting something and its on camera, youve gotta get it.
It lives forever and ever and ever.
Its not as much of a living, breathing, growing organism.
Its just a different experience.
I do really, really love live theater.
There isnt anyone to stop and fix it.
Thats part of whats so fun.
Even as an audience member, I always find that really fun, watching people roll with the punches.
Thats part of the beauty and the magic of live theater.
No matter what happens, the show must go on.
