That whole library scene is a30 page scene in a script.

Reed is completely messingwith the two young missionaries or if hes tapped into something supernatural.
So that back and forth, I think, creates this need to be unpredictable at any moment.
And yeah, it was fun.
Two young missionaries are forced to prove their faith when they knock on the wrong door and are greeted by a diabolical Mr. Reed, becoming ensnared in his deadly game of cat-and-mouse.
