ADunespin-off has been in the works at HBO since 2019, two years before the release ofDunein 2021.
On November 22, 2022, former directorJohan Renck announced that production had begun.
Renck has since left the project and was replaced byAnna Foerster.

With that change, thankfully, the release will not be delayedany further.
Officially,Dune: Prophecywill debut on November 17, 2024, with streaming available on Max.
