Warden really doesn’t set out to try and explain why Paul is like this.
Jimmy Warden is still somewhat in the infancy of his career.
Warden is an exciting director to keep an eye on, even if his writing lacks the same astuteness.
A particular exchange when she mimics Pennys French accent is done with such subtlety yet comedic precision.
She packs all of her scenes with a frenzied energy that makes up for some stodgy dialogue and writing.
It came before her leading roles in horror hits ‘The Babysitter’ and ‘Ready or Not.’
But, this is no ones movie except for Ray Nicholson.
Theres no method to Pauls madness.
Hes given a sympathizing backstory, but the movie nor Nicholson really rolls with it.
