This movie is, at its heart, acreature feature.

Arms extend from its mouth to pull its victims in, making for a truly gross image.
(What’s worse is its proclivity to stay hidden in the shadows.)
Even when you know it’s coming, its appearance in the film is still startling.
And land it certainly did.
And, just maybe, that wasn’t the only thing weighing in Savage’s favor.
