Most of all,Fringewas unafraid to experiment.
For example, some episodes unfold in alternate realities or within characters' dreams.
There’s even one presented in an animated format thanks to a hefty dose of LSD.

The series is filled with intentionally poor production values, over-the-top acting, and absurd plotlines.
The actors are also fantastic.
