Its still kind of hard to believe that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are sharing the character of Spider-Man. But hammering out the contract details of the deal was only the beginning. But what did the process look like on the inside? FEIGE: It was a combination, it was mainly written for the screen test though. Which is what we usually do, so if people like you get your hands on them…...
The Marvel Studios train is a busy one, and its showing no signs of slowing down. Back in 2007, the studio was forging ahead with its first two films,Iron ManandThe Incredible Hulk. With such enticing projects on the horizon, fans are understandably curious about when and where everything starts filming. Last week,we learned that Marvel had castTom Holland(The Impossible) for the newSpider-Man. That may finally change with theSpider-Manreboot, and with a very particular vision in mind. Particularly at that age, in high school, everything feels like life or death. The tests feel like life or death, says Feige. Coming home from being out with your friends seemed like life or death. Now streaming on Netflix isJill BauerandRonna Gradus' eye-opening documentaryHot Girls Wanted. Produced byRashida Jones, the film premiered at Sundance earlier this year before hitting online platforms on May 29th. “Every day a new girl turns 18 and every day a new girl wants to do porn. I will never run out,” remarks a 23-year-old talent agent featured inHot Girls Wanted. As the film unfolds, it becomes clear that he’s right....

FEIGE:Well, we already shifted once. Spider-Man wasn’t part of that announcement when we made it in October. So there’s always room to shift. Bayona’sThe ImpossibleandKevin Macdonald’sHow I Live Now. A great place to start these days is with social media. Kevin, Amy and their teams have done an incredible job. CL The Marvel process is very thorough, and thats why their results are so outstanding. Im confident Spider-Man will be no exception. For Spidey himself, we saw many terrific young actors, but Toms screen tests were special. Image via Sony Pictures All in all, we are off to a roaring start....
Tom Hollandhas been cast as Marvel’s new Spider-Man. The real surprise is Watts, whose only other feature is the 2014 horror film Clown. The pacing was lethargic and the movie felt long even though it was less than 90 minutes. The movie does have kids in the lead roles, but those kids are pre-adolescents and Holland is 19. Here’s hoping he can pull it off. Kevin, Amy and their teams have done an incredible job....
It’s a move many fans have been asking for since the character’s introduction in 2011. But now its true. Its meant a great deal to a great many people. And yet the Marvel Cinematic Universe lags behind. Marvel/Sony’sSpider-Manreboot isstuck on its casting decision, but whoever ultimately wins will play a white, teenage Peter Parker. In other words, Sony, Morales is money; time to bet on him in a big way....
Another week, more Spider-Man drama. That clearly didnt happen, so whats the hold up? Conspicuously left off this list isEnders GamestarAsa Butterfield, whom many reports had pegged asthe frontrunnerfor the role. Apparently the two studios can’t come to an agreement. Where does this leave us? Well I expect well hear a final decision…sometime. Image via XYZ Films Stay tuned, folks. For a refresher on all of Marvels confirmed releases, see below....
